{"id":3315,"date":"2023-01-11T17:05:00","date_gmt":"2023-01-11T23:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/?p=3315"},"modified":"2023-01-11T17:05:02","modified_gmt":"2023-01-11T23:05:02","slug":"advocacy-update-118th-congress-starts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/advocacy-update-118th-congress-starts\/","title":{"rendered":"Advocacy update: 118th Congress starts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After last week\u2019s delay to name a Speaker of the House, the 118th Congress is underway, with new members now sworn in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NIADA is busy in Washington D.C., getting in front of members of Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey are holding their member-elect swearing in parties, which NIADA has been attending,\u201d said Brett Scott, NIADA Vice President of Government Affairs. \u201cWe will continue to be the voice for NIADA in Washington D.C.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will continue to be the voice for NIADA in Washington D.C.<\/p>\n<cite>Brett Scott, NIADA Vice President of Government Affairs<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Going into the session, NIADA has several items to bring to the attention of lawmakers, including oversight from regulatory agencies, right to repair and cracking down on catalytic converter thefts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOnce the new Congress gets its legs, we will start engaging with members of both the House and Senate to make sure that they know where NIADA stands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bills were introduced in the last Congress in the House and Senate to combat catalytic converter thefts.
