It was the largest February increase for wholesale used vehicle prices since 2009\u2019s 4.4. percent rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even with the rise in February, wholesale used vehicle prices are still down 7 percent from February 2022 \u2014 the all-time peak of the index.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"404\" src=\"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/03\/manheim-index.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3522\" srcset=\"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/03\/manheim-index.jpg 720w, https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/03\/manheim-index-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/03\/manheim-index-380x213.jpg 380w, https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/03\/manheim-index-550x309.jpg 550w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Wholesale used vehicle prices were down in every market class, according to Manheim. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the eight major market segment tracked by Manheim, wholesale used vehicle prices remained down between 3.9 percent and 10.1 percent year over year. Luxury cars had the largest decrease. Pickups had the lowest decline, followed by compact cars and midsize cars. SUVs were down 8.6 percent from the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wholesale used vehicle inventory was down two days to 24 days and five days less than a year ago.<br>Another report from Dealertrack showed retail sales slowed in February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Retail sales were down 5 percent from January at Dealertrack\u2019s set of stores. From February 2022, sales were down 9 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even as sales slowed, retail inventory waned. According to vAuto, the days of supply were down seven days from the end of January and 13 days lower than February 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Wholesale used vehicle prices soared more 4 percent in February.
