{"id":4336,"date":"2023-10-20T06:42:14","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T11:42:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/?p=4336"},"modified":"2023-10-20T06:42:15","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T11:42:15","slug":"cpo-sales-top-2-million-for-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/cpo-sales-top-2-million-for-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"CPO sales top 2 million for 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Certified pre-owned sales have topped 2 million units for the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coxautoinc.com\/market-insights\/september-2023-cpo-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new report from Cox Automotive<\/a>, CPO sales are up 9 percent, 112,799 units, from the first nine months of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cClearly, CPO sales show demand is there, partly due to the affordability challenges that persist in the new market,\u201d said Chris Frey, senior manager of Economic and Industry Insights at Cox Automotive. \u201cThe only factor holding back CPO is limited supply.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In September sales were up 14 percent from the same month in 2022, with 254,976 vehicles sold. That followed August\u2019s strong sales of approximately 266,000 CPO units sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCPO sales over the last three months have been the highest in any month since July 2021,\u201d Frey said. \u201cWe are still waiting for the expanded eligibility programs noted earlier this year to fully bear fruit. Some brands have looked stronger recently, and those could be the early signs of success. At the same time, improving new-vehicle inventory levels and higher sales incentives are keeping some buyers in the new market \u2013 not in CPO.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CPO sales are expected to remain strong through the end of the year.
