Hurricane Helene left a path of destruction from Florida through Georgia, the Carolinas and into Tennessee over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dangerous storm destroyed homes, and businesses and tragically led to the deaths of more than 150 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Independent auto dealers were among the many small businesses impacted. NIADA has been in contact with Executive Directors and dealers throughout the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those wishing to help the recovery efforts of these dealers are asked to donate to the NIADA Foundation. The NIADA Foundation raises and distributes donations to assist members of the automotive community after natural disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn times of tragedy, our dealer community rallies together to help one another,\u201d said NIADA CEO Jeff Martin. \u201cWe ask you to consider contributing to the NIADA Foundation. That\u2019s how we get the dollars to help our dealers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Darla Booher, a member of the NIADA Board of Directors, and President of Deal Depot in Greer, South Carolina, said many dealers in the Carolinas have been impacted. She added there\u2019s been no communication with the hardest hit portions of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee due to the collapse of infrastructure in the floods. Several communities in the region are still underwater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s devastating.
