{"id":5310,"date":"2024-10-23T10:17:05","date_gmt":"2024-10-23T15:17:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/?p=5310"},"modified":"2024-10-23T10:17:06","modified_gmt":"2024-10-23T15:17:06","slug":"ftc-to-send-refunds-to-american-vehicle-protection-customers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/ftc-to-send-refunds-to-american-vehicle-protection-customers\/","title":{"rendered":"FTC to send refunds to American Vehicle Protection customers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/news-events\/news\/press-releases\/2024\/10\/ftc-sends-more-449000-consumers-harmed-extended-vehicle-warranty-scam\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Trade Commission will be sending $449,000 in refunds to consu<\/a>mers following its action against American Vehicle Protection Corp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FTC announced the complaint against the Florida-based company in 2022, alleging it misrepresented the vehicle coverage in marketing, claimed to be associated with the manufacturer or dealer, and claimed consumers could get a full refund of their down payment within 30 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A settlement was reached in March 2023 with the operators being barred from the extended automobile industry and all outbound telemarketing.
