{"id":5452,"date":"2024-12-18T11:44:56","date_gmt":"2024-12-18T17:44:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/?p=5452"},"modified":"2024-12-18T15:09:41","modified_gmt":"2024-12-18T21:09:41","slug":"man-sentenced-for-shooting-dealer-of-texas-car-dealer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/man-sentenced-for-shooting-dealer-of-texas-car-dealer\/","title":{"rendered":"Man sentenced for shooting death of Texas car dealer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The man found guilty in the shooting death of a Texas used car dealer was sentenced to 55 years in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/news\/man-sentenced-2022-murder-arlington-car-dealership-owner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KDFW in Dallas-Fort Worth<\/a>, Brian Espy, 33, was found guilty in the shooting death of the owner of the Salem Autos in Arlington, Texas, Adel Elhindawi, 52.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elhindawi was shot while repossessing a vehicle in May 2022. He died in the hospital three days after the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Espy was arrested two days after the shooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>News reports stated Espy had purchased a vehicle at Salem Autos, which experienced mechanical issues. The dealership loaned him a Jeep, which was not returned by Espy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlingtontx.gov\/news\/my_arlington_t_x\/news_stories\/homicide_investigation_-_report__2022-01360305\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arlington Police Department<\/a> reported Elhindawi and an employee went to retrieve the loaned Jeep at an apartment complex. When the employee used a spare key to enter the Jeep, he told investigators that Espy ran in his direction and fired several shots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The employee drove away in the repossessed vehicle and parked around the corner. Elhindawi was shot as he tried to leave the complex in another vehicle. Espy got in a vehicle driven by Quayanna Massie, which pulled up next to the employee in the Jeep.
