NIADA continues its Protect Your Dealerships with Your Membership campaign, recruiting new members across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NIADA joined dealers at the Manheim St. Louis auction Tuesday. NIADA will be at the Bel Air Auto Auction in Belcamp, Maryland, Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NIADA is sharing information with dealers on how it is serving as the voice of the independent dealer in Washington, D.C., and how your membership helps strengthen our message in meeting with lawmakers and federal agencies. Membership also provides discounts to industry-leading education and events and several services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Protect Your Dealership with Your Membership campaign, the association will be looking to add 500 new members to its roster of more than 13,300. The campaign will include direct mails, phone calls, auction visits, social media posts and peer recruitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NIADA encourages dealers to share details of NIADA\u2019s work on their behalf. NIADA\u2019s primary responsibility is serving as the voice for dealers and partner members by educating legislators and policymakers so we can protect the industry from unnecessary regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jason Reaves of Wayne Reaves Software in Macon, Georgia, received the 2024 Crystal Eagle Award for recruiting more than 100 NIADA members in the past two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reaves, who is not a dealer but a vendor, expresses the value of the association to dealers. The current president of the Georgia IADA points out the need to be a part of the association no matter where a dealer is in their career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor a successful dealer, I use the pitch that it\u2019s more about giving back to the industry that\u2019s been so good to you,\u201d Reaves said. \u201cFor a newer dealer, it\u2019s more about being your voice and protecting you from overregulation and higher taxes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reaves adds that there\u2019s true strength in numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s extremely important that dealerships stand together because that\u2019s the only voice they have,\u201d Reaves said. \u201cYou can try to go out and speak to your representative or senator and try to protect your industry. But it\u2019s very important that the association is strong because when they are strong, they can go to the capitol and tell the representative we represent this many dealerships, this many jobs, and this many small businesses. That\u2019s extremely important to protect the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
