Jack Carter wanted to create a dealership that served his community and provided reliable, affordable vehicles for those who struggled to obtain traditional financing. His vision led to starting Turn & Burn Motors in Conyers, Georgia, in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twelve years after opening the dealership, Carter was named the National Quality Dealer of the Year during the NIADA Awards Luncheon sponsored by BlackBook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carter found himself at a loss for words after receiving the honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is one of the most humbling things that’s ever happened to me,\u201d Carter said. \u201cBeing backstage with those guys. It’s just an amazing group of guys that deserve it as much or more. Everybody’s so passionate about what we do and just really thankful. I can’t imagine winning this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carter was one of 12 finalists for the honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carter extended credit to his wife Kate and his brother and business partner, Ben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have an amazing woman with me who supports me,\u201d Carter said. \u201cI’ve got an amazing sibling. We started Turn & Burn together. Every day we’re hustling together. I might be the face of Turn & Burn, but my brother, Ben, has been there every moment, every day. We work really hard together. Thank you, bro.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before starting his own dealership, Carter was a buyer for another dealer. After years of working in the auto sales industry, he saw too many customers struggling to purchase vehicles due to credit challenges. Determined to make a difference, he took a leap of faith and started his dealership, focusing on in-house financing to help people get the vehicles they needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting with just a handful of cars and a strong work ethic, he built his business from the ground up. Through dedication, creative marketing and a focus on customer relationships, the dealership grew into a trusted BHPH dealership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carter continues to expand his business, offering in-house financing, reliable vehicles and a dealership where customers feel like family. He now has more than 30 employees, with whom he shares the award with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur employees are so passionate about this,\u201d Carter said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with running his dealership, Carter has been dedicated to giving back to the industry. He joined the NIADA Board of Directors in 2024 and has been an outspoken advocate on a variety of issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI’m not the young guy anymore, and maybe I’m not the senior yet, but I really look forward to helping as many young dealers coming up as I can,\u201d Carter said. \u201cI hope everybody else does the same. It\u2019s important to help those who are coming with a hand up instead of a handout.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Georgia IADA Executive Director Amy Bennett helped Carter receive his dealer license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt makes me so proud. He continues to give back all the time,\u201d Bennett said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Awards Ceremony, Bennett was named the AEC of the Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a prestigious honor. All the AECs work really hard,\u201d Bennett said. \u201cIt\u2019s just an honor when your peers recognize you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bennett thanked her husband of 39 years, Dennis, for his support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
