Industry members will head to Capitol Hill the following day, Sept. 16, to meet with lawmakers and their staff on issues facing the used vehicle industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration is now open for the Policy Conference at <a href=\"https:\/\/niada.com\/policyconference\/\">niada.com\/policyconference<\/a>. Attendees are asked to register by Aug. 19 to ensure NIADA staff can set up meetings with legislators from their district. Aug. 19 is also the deadline to book a room at the Omni Shoreham for the NIADA\u2019s negotiated room rate of $299 a night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harshbarger, who represents Tennessee\u2019s 1<sup>st<\/sup> congressional district, which includes Bristol and East Tennessee, is in her third term in Washington. A pharmacist by trade, Harshbarger ran her own small business before joining Congress. She serves on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, along with subcommittees on energy, health and commerce, manufacturing and trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Day on Hill, dealers will also visit with Representatives Richard Hudson (R-North Carolina) and Mike Haridopolos (R-Florida) at lunch at the Library of Congress Sept. 16. Hudson has been in Congress since 2013 and serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee. Haridopolos, in his first term, serves on the Committee on Financial Services, where he is a Majority Whip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Day on the Hill will conclude with a reception in the U.S. House of Representatives\u2019 Budget Committee Room in the Cannon Building.
