{"id":6339,"date":"2025-10-01T13:35:49","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T18:35:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/?p=6339"},"modified":"2025-10-01T13:35:51","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T18:35:51","slug":"used-vehicle-sales-surpassing-2025-forecast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/used-vehicle-sales-surpassing-2025-forecast\/","title":{"rendered":"Used vehicle sales surpassing 2025 forecast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Used vehicle sales are expected to finish 2.3 percent ahead of the original forecast for 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coxautoinc.com\/insights-hub\/replay-available-cox-automotive-q3-2025-industry-insights-and-sales-forecast-call\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Third Quarter Industry Insights and Sales Forecast Cal<\/a>l Sept. 25, Cox Automotive updated its full-year 2025 forecast. The new projection called for between 37.9 million and 38.5 million used cars. However, the used market remains constrained by supply and used vehicle values will hold up at the level we\u2019re seeing now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Used vehicle sales are seasonally stronger than in the past few years. Sales into September were running 3.5 percent ahead of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUsed vehicles began showing moderate strength over the past month,\u201d said Jonathan Gregory, Senior Manager of Economic and Industry Insights at Cox Automotive. \u201cLooking at the year-to-date picture, estimated sales have been performing quite solidly, up 4.1 percent compared to last year. This indicates we\u2019re maintaining steady demand despite the various economic headwinds we\u2019ve been facing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The days of supply of inventory is at 44.3 days, 1.5 percent below 2024.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Used vehicle sales are expected to finish 2.3 percent ahead of the original forecast for 2025.
