{"id":6750,"date":"2026-01-14T14:10:04","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T20:10:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/?p=6750"},"modified":"2026-01-14T14:32:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T20:32:06","slug":"trump-administration-follows-court-order-asks-for-cfpb-funds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/niada.com\/dashboard\/trump-administration-follows-court-order-asks-for-cfpb-funds\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump Administration follows court order, asks for CFPB funds"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Citing a court order, on January 9, President Donald Trump\u2019s budget director wrote to the Federal Reserve seeking $145 million to fund the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026, which began on January 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The action ends an 11-month stand-off in which the White House had withheld funding from the agency and warned that staff layoffs and widespread operational suspensions could result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a letter to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, Russell Vought, who serves as both Director of the Office of Management and Budget and acting CFPB Director, said the funds would be sufficient to support the bureau\u2019s operations through March.
