As more independent dealers add used EVs to their inventory, one question customers increasingly ask is: where do I charge? Walmart may soon have a significant part of the answer. The retail giant has rapidly grown its DC fast-charging network and is now operating 73 locations across 17 states, with over 600 individual charging stalls \u2014 making it one of the largest public charging networks in the U.S. outside of Tesla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Walmart opened 12 new stations in June alone, a 20% expansion in a single month, and analysts tracking the network project it will reach 100 locations by end of August. Each site is equipped with 400-kW dual-port fast chargers supporting both CCS1 and NACS connectors, covering virtually all current EV models on the market. With over 5,200 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations nationwide and more than 400 stations either installed or in known planning stages, the footprint is expected to grow substantially. The company is also adding credit card payment terminals to all new and existing chargers, and Walmart Plus members receive a 10% charging discount.
