At the 2025 Annual Meeting, June 23 at the NIADA Convention and Expo, NIADA members will elect the 2025-26 Board of Directors and consider changes to the bylaws.
Twelve members have been nominated for the 2025-26 Board of Directors.
The Board is responsible for all policy and financial oversight of the Association. It also hires and provides oversight of its CEO, who manages day-to-day operations.
To fill these positions, the Board established a nominating committee led by the NIADA Board Chairman. After an open call seeking applications from interested members, the nominating committee used specific criteria to create the best possible Board to meet the needs of the Association. The nominating committee has reported its recommendations to the past presidents who will make the final nomination of Board candidates to the membership in the call of the Annual Meeting per NIADA bylaws.
NIADA Board of Directors 2025 nominees include (pending bylaw changes being approved):
President, Don Griffin
President-elect, Darla Booher
Senior Vice President, Dan Johnson
Treasurer, Bentley Nolan
Secretary, Chris Maher
Vice President Region 1, Don Sullivan, Jr.
Vice President Region 2, Jack Carter
Vice President Region 3, Otto Hahne
Vice President Region 4, Greg Zak
Vice President Region 5, Mark Weida
Vice President Region 6, Nick Markosian
Chairman of the Board, Michael Darrow
The Board members will start their terms at the convention and represent the Association at events throughout the year, including the Policy Conference and BHPH Dealer Forum.
Bylaw changes to be presented
At the Annual Meeting, several changes to the bylaws will be presented for consideration.
One of the bylaw changes is increasing the number of regions from four to six. The at-large vice presidents will take over representation in the new regions.
Chairman of the Board Gordon Tormohlen explained the change is being proposed to assist the regional vice presidents in making contacts within their regions and to better represent members.
“The long-term goal is that the states and the executives will get better service from their regional vice presidents and regional vice presidents will have a better idea of what’s going on because they have fewer states to track literally,” Tormohlen said.
The change mostly impacts states in the western half of the country.
Other changes to the bylaws that will be introduced include but are not limited to a clarification on who is eligible to be a voting member, adopting Robert’s Rule of Order for the Annual Meeting, changes to the nominating committee and allowing nominations from the floor at the meeting.
