Car dealers Craig Stowell and Tim Evans always appreciate an opportunity to share their experiences in the used vehicle industry with their peers.
Both dealers led education sessions at the 2024 NIADA Convention and Expo and encourage others to apply to speak or present at the largest event for the used car industry June 23-26 at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. Applications are now being accepted to speak and present at the NIADA Convention and Expo June at niada.com/convention/apply-to-speak.
“I’m always willing to help others in the business. I’ve been very blessed in the business,” Evans said. “It was a positive experience. I met and talked with several people and those conversations turned into connections after the convention…I’d do it again.”
Evans, the owner of Evans Auto Sales in York, South Carolina, presented the session “Lessons on Hiring That Changed My Dealership.”
It was Stowell’s second time to present at the NIADA Convention. The owner of Flyin’ Wheels in Danville, New Hampshire, packed in dealers for his “Building Your Brand Through Social Media” session. He answered questions in the hall for several minutes after the session.
“I was more than just excited for the opportunity to get up in front of my peers and talk about what was working for me,” Stowell said. “I am constantly learning and evolving and anytime I find something that works I am happy to share it. I also had the opportunity to speak to many dealers after the session 1-on-1. It felt great knowing that we could fill a room with like-minded individuals who were engaging and open to new ideas.
“I hope to speak again next year. I love the event and learn more every time I attend.”
NIADA will have education breakout sessions and panels in five tracks – management, retail, BHPH, marketing and compliance – for the more than 1,200 attendees.
The sessions are for dealer education and are “sales-free” zones. Presenters are not allowed to promote, sell or endorse a product or company during the sessions.
Selected presenters will be asked to provide a video, magazine article and other collateral about their appearance at the Convention. Presenters will also need to provide all materials for their presentation prior to May 31.
NIADA will start announcing education sessions in January and most speakers will be selected by the end of the month. Submit your application today.
