The U.S. Senate continued confirmation hearings for President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet appointments Wednesday.

His choice for the Department of Transportation secretary, Sean Duffy, was set to appear before the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.

Duffy is a former Wisconsin congressman, district attorney, and more recently, TV host. He represented the Wisconsin 7th district from 2011 to 2019. He was the district attorney in Ashland County from 2002 to 2010. Before entering politics, he was a reality TV star, appearing on multiple shows, including “The Real World.”

Trump recently nominated Steven Gill Bradbury to be the Deputy Secretary of Transportation under Duffy. Bradbury served as general counsel at the DOT during the first Trump administration. During President George W. Bush’s second term, Bradbury was acting Assistant AG from 2005-2007. Bradbury became the acting Secretary of Transportation from January 12, 2021, until January 20, 2021, after Secretary Elaine Chao submitted her resignation.
