Longtime association executive Danny Langfield is joining the National Independent Dealers Association (NIADA) as the Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Langfield brings more than 20 years of association experience to NIADA, including serving in his most recent role as Executive Director of the Auto Mobility Research & Education Foundation (AMREF).

“What a fantastic opportunity,” Langfield said. “The forward momentum and positive energy today at NIADA are palpable. I’m genuinely excited to join a team that is so clearly focused on serving the members.”

Previously, he spent 10 years as the Deputy Executive Director of the Texas Independent Automobile Dealers Association, where he oversaw dealer compliance and education programs.

“Danny is very unique in that he brings both a broad knowledge of our industry and a rich history of executive-level association experience, which is exactly what we need in this position,” said NIADA CEO Jeff Martin. “His expertise in dealer compliance, data analysis and communications will have an immediate impact on the association as we continue to increase member value and support our state affiliates.”

Prior to his role with AMREF, Langfield served as the CEO of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA), a trade organization representing auto dealers specializing in wheelchair accessible vehicles. The association is the exclusive administrator of the nationally recognized “Quality Assurance Program” accreditation and a strong advocate for veterans with disabilities.

Langfield will be working to provide essential industry data to dealers, including the production of the Used Car Industry Report.

“As far as my new role, I’m probably most excited about the opportunity to bring back and revitalize the Used Car Industry Report,” Langfield said. “Jeff has made it clear that providing meaningful, actionable data for all our members is among the top priorities for the association. Can’t wait to get started.”

Langfield will be at the NIADA Convention and Expo June 23-26 at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. He officially starts his role as Director of Strategic Initiatives July 1.
