Longtime association executive Danny Langfield has been named to NIADA’s newly created role, Director of Strategic Initiatives.
Langfield comes to the association from his most recent role as Executive Director of the Auto Mobility Research & Education Foundation (AMREF).

“What a fantastic opportunity,” Langfield said. “The forward momentum and positive energy today at NIADA are palpable. The association is ascendant, and I’m genuinely excited to join a team that is so clearly focused on uniting the industry, growing its voice and serving its members.”
Langfield brings 20 years of association experience to his new role, including a 2006-2016 stint as Deputy Executive Director of the Texas Independent Automobile Dealers Association, where he oversaw dealer compliance and education programs, among numerous other responsibilities.
“Danny is very unique in that he brings both a broad knowledge of our industry and a rich history of executive-level association experience, which is exactly what we need in this position,” said NIADA CEO Jeff Martin. “His expertise in dealer compliance, data analysis and communications will have an immediate impact on the association as we continue to increase member value and support our state affiliates.”
Prior to his most recent role with AMREF, Langfield served from 2016-2023 as CEO of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA), a 501c6 trade organization representing auto dealers specializing in wheelchair accessible vehicles. The association is the exclusive administrator of the nationally recognized “Quality Assurance Program” accreditation and a strong advocate for veterans with disabilities.
“As far as my new role, I’m probably most excited about the opportunity to bring back and revitalize the Used Car Industry Report,” Langfield said. “Jeff has made it clear that providing meaningful, actionable data for all our members is among the top priorities for the association. I can’t wait to get started.”
Langfield will join the NIADA team for the Convention and Expo in Las Vegas, then officially commence his role as Director of Strategic Initiatives July 1.
