NIADA kicks off April membership campaign

NIADA and Tennessee IADA kicked off the April membership campaign – Protect Your Dealership with Your Membership, Join NIADA Today – at the Manheim Nashville “Backstage Access” Sale, where more than 4,000 vehicles were being auctioned.

The auction was the first of several events across the nation that NIADA will be attending to share with dealers information on its work to strengthen the voice of the independent auto industry.

During the Protect Your Dealership with Your Membership, Join NIADA Today campaign, the association will be looking to add 500 new members to its roster of more than 13,300. The campaign will include direct mails, phone calls, auction visits, social media posts and peer recruitment.

NIADA encourages dealers to share details of NIADA’s work on their behalf. NIADA’s primary responsibility is serving as the voice for dealers and partner members by educating legislators and policymakers so we can protect the industry from unnecessary regulation.

Membership also gives discounted access to education and conventions, savings through partner coupons, magazines and emails that keep members abreast of what is going on in the industry and the licensing, compliance and regulatory assistance offered to members.

The president of Car Credit Nation in Winchester, Virginia, Chris Maher, who won the 2024 Crystal Eagle for recruiting more than 100 members in the past two years, points out that the value of the membership is the education and resources it provides to protect your dealership. He explains that you join veteran dealers who can help provide advice in challenging situations.

“There’s all kinds of things that can happen in our businesses day to day from employee lawsuits to external government intervention,” Maher said. “You really need to be cautious and have somebody who has been down that road to give you the expert advice.

“The main reason to be a member of the association is to make sure you get shoulder to shoulder with the giants in this business who have made it, who have crawled through the valleys and up the mountaintops. It gives people hope. This a tough business.”
