The NIADA Foundation is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship.
The NIADA Foundation will be awarding six scholarships, one from each region, for students accepted or enrolled in an accredited technical, vocational school, community college or university.
Members of the NIADA Foundation Board this past year changed the focus of the scholarship in an effort to attract more technicians and other potential employees for the independent automobile industry.
“If we are going to give car dealers’ money out, we want it to boost car dealers and for it to go to techs and those that will directly impact dealers,” said Chris Maher, board member. “Giving this money to finding new techs is seeding the field.”
Applicants can go to niada.com/scholarships to submit their application along with a short video that will be part of the judging.
NIADA has awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships to students to continue their education in the auto industry.
The NIADA Foundation has continued to partner with Cox Automotive to support a scholarship for one Northwood University student to continue their studies.
