When back-to-back floods struck Crooksville, Ohio, this August, the damage reached into the independent dealer community, hitting Value Auto Auction, an Ohio IADA auction partner, and many of the employees who keep its lanes running. The NIADA Foundation responded with a $10,000 contribution to the auction’s relief fundraiser.

Flooding hit the Perry County town on August 11, and again on August 16. This devastating second flood swamped the sites where donated supplies were being stored, damaging or washing away much of what the community had already worked so hard to collect. Of Value Auto Auction’s roughly 50 employees, more than a quarter sustained significant damage to their homes and property, and five faced total or near-total losses.

With support from dealers, vendors, the National Auto Auction Association, and NIADA, the fundraiser brought in more than $55,000. For more information on the NIADA Foundation visit niada.com/foundation.
