WASHINGTON D.C. (September 19, 2022) – The National Independent Automobile Dealers Association kicked off its 2022 National Policy Conference yesterday in Washington, D.C. with independent dealers and industry leaders gathering to have their voice be heard by members of Congress.
The event kicked off with opening remarks from NIADA CEO Robert Voltmann and a fireside chat with CFPB Director Rohit Chopra. “Having meaningful dialogue with lawmakers on legislative and regulatory issues that can have massive implications on today’s independent dealer is of paramount importance”, stated NIADA CEO Robert Voltmann. “Meeting here in Washington to discuss these issues and seeing first-hand the voice of our members being heard is powerful. This is what it’s all about.”
The Conference continues through Wednesday with a number of panel discussions including government affairs and economic outlook panels, discussion on Congressional committee races to watch, fireside chats with a number of members of Congress, and keynotes from Amy Walter and Senator Scott Brown.
The Conference will wrap up on Wednesday with an overview of the FTC’s jurisdiction and how it impacts the independent automotive industry.
